I am very happy to announce that I’ve been awarded a ‘Create’ Research and Development Grant from Arts Council Wales to explore ways of combining hot and warm glass techniques. Currently my vessels are limited in form by the kiln formed process. Initial experiments have been very promising.
I will become more efficient in the use of resources, reducing the carbon footprint of my practice and increasing its sustainability. Incorporating waste glass in new work will help reduce any negative environmental impact of my current methods and improve financial viability of my practice. I will expand my skill set, securing a core foundation in hot glass, to enhance my understanding of that discipline. I am so grateful to recieve this grant to give me thi chance to explore my dreams.
